Vattenfall Looking for DanTysk and Sandbank SOV

The Netherlands-based Acta Marine has won an EU tender to provide a service operations vessel (SOV) during operations and maintenance (O&M) services at the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.

Under the contract, Acta Marine will provide SOV for the service campaigns in 2024, 2025, and 2026 on the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms.

The charter of SOV service will start on 1 March in 2024, 2025, and 2026 for firm five to six months with options to extend by four times for 15 days each year.

The tender was carried out by DanTysk Sandbank Offshore Wind GmbH & Co. KG.

The O&M services will be carried out by Deutsche Windtechik, which won the EU tender for the offshore wind farms in March last year.

The projects are owned by Vattenfall (51 per cent) and Stadtwerke München (49 per cent).

Located some 70 kilometres west of the island of Sylt, the 288 MW DanTysk offshore wind farm comprises 80 Siemens Gamesa 3.6 MW turbines that have been in operation since 2014.

Sandbank offshore wind farm has been in operation since 2017. The wind farm also has a 288 MW capacity and its 72 Siemens Gamesa 4 MW turbines are spinning some 90 kilometres west of Sylt.
