PGA Baltica’s subsidiaries, Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 5 and Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 9, have received the most points regarding the location permits for offshore wind farms for two areas in the Baltic Sea offshore Poland.
Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 5 secured the most points regarding the permit for area 60.E.43 which is located 85 kilometres from Poland’s shore, in water depths up to 58 meters.

Other applicants who also qualified for the Phase 2 site auction included EDF Renewable Offshore Polska I, Cremona, Polish Offshore Wind (PWO), and SSE Renewables.
Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 9 acquired the most points for location permit for area 44.E.13. EDF Renewable Offshore Polska I, Carmagnola (RWE Renewables), and POW were among other applicants who also qualified for the site.
The area is located in the direct vicinity of RWE’s F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind project.
When it comes to PGE Baltica, in January, the company secured permits for two areas (area 43.E.1 and area 60.E.3) for the development of offshore wind farms.
In February 2021, Poland signed into law the Offshore Act which regulates the development of offshore wind farms in the Polish Baltic Sea.
The legislation allows for 10.9 GW of offshore wind capacity to be either operational or under development by 2027.
