Vestas has completed the sale of its converters and controls business, marking the transfer of the company’s three converters and controls factories to KK Wind Solutions (KK).
Following the acquisition, KK becomes a world leader within converter and controls for the wind industry, adding 600 employees from the three factories in Denmark, India, and China.

As part of the partnership between Vestas and KK, KK will exclusively supply converters and control panels to Vestas, and the partnership will further advance with co-development of all future Vestas converters.

KK Wind Solutions and Vestas have agreed on several transactional service agreements to ensure business continuity, knowledge transfer and stable operations throughout the integration period.

Vestas’ converter and control panel factory in Hammel, Denmark employs around 280 people and the company’s converter factory in Oragadam, India employs around 50 people. The converter factory in China employs around 220 people and is part of the company’s manufacturing compound in Tianjin.
Headquartered in Ikast, Denmark, KK is a supplier of power electronics solutions to OEMs such as Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, and GE Renewables.
KK now employs over 2,200 people and is owned by the Danish investment company, A.P. Møller Holding A/S.
