Following this delivery, Edda Wind now has five vessels in operation, with another nine to come , the company said.
Edda Boreas , which can accommodate up to 95 offshore wind technicians, will enable year-round operations at the project site, where the wind turbine installation is about to commence.
As reported last month, the jack-up vessel Voltaire , which will be installing the wind turbines, arrived in the UK in mid-June as the work is scheduled to start this month.
According to AIS data, Voltaire is still in the Able Seaton port and is expected to sail out on 14 July. Edda Boreas is currently reported to be in the Port of Middlesbrough.
The construction and commissioning stage at Dogger Bank’s first phase will also be supported by North Star’s newbuild Grampian Derwent , which was delivered a few days ago in Vard’s yard in Vietnam and will be deployed three months ahead of schedule as the developer SSE Renewables and its partners booked the vessel for the work.
