HAV Design will deliver both the ship design and an integrated equipment package including the propulsion system, engines, propellers, and positioning system.

The newbuild hybrid vessel is of HAV 833 SOV design and will be equipped with a methanol-electric propulsion system, including a battery pack that allows very low to zero-emissions operations.
The SOV is 93 metres long and 19.6 metres wide, and can accommodate up to 124 persons.
Ørsted and ESVAGT signed an agreement for a second methanol-powered SOV at the beginning of this month.
The SOV is a sister vessel to the world’s first methanol-powered SOV which is scheduled to enter service off the UK East Coast in 2024.
Built at Cemre Shipyard in Turkey, the second vessel will be ready to launch in 2026, where it will operate out of Ørsted’s UK East Coast Hub on a 10-year contract.
