Estonia’s Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (CPTRA) is expected to officially confirm the award of the Liivi 2 site to CIP and Ignitis Renewables in the coming days.
According to the two companies, which partnered earlier this year, the offshore wind farm in the Estonian Liivi 2 area will have a total capacity of up to 1.4 GW.

The Liivi 2 offshore wind site is located northwest of Ruhnu Island, near Estonia’s Baltic Sea coast, and spans some 115 square kilometres.
Subject to obtaining the relevant permits, contracting suppliers and securing financing, the project is expected to become operational after 2030, according to Ignitis Group.
For Ignitis Renewables, this is the second tender through which the company secured an offshore wind development site, having been chosen in Lithuania’s first offshore wind tender through a joint venture with Ocean Winds.
