When the project re-focused on a jacket design solution, the company’s knowledge made it ideal partner to be re-selected by BC-Wind to take forward the detailed foundation design, Wood Thilsted said.
Complex ground conditions, including unusual soil deposits from glaciers, corrosion in the Baltic Sea, and ice loading “present unique technical hurdles that WT has a proven track record in addressing,” said the consultancy.

The BC-Wind offshore wind farm, Ocean Winds’ first project in Poland, is proposed to be built about 23 kilometres north of the municipalities of Choczewo and Krokowa in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, across two sites.
The project has the capacity to generate up to 500 MW of energy from up to 34 turbines, 23 kilometres from Poland’s shoreline.
