Norway has received clearance for up to NOK 23 billion (EUR 2.04 billion) in state aid in the form of a bilateral Contract for Difference (CfD) for the Southern North Sea II (Sørlige Nordsjø II) offshore wind farm project.
The CfD will be in place for a period of 15 years. The state aid was approved by the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA), the body monitoring compliance with European Economic Area (EEA) rules in Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.
