At the Moray West site, construction work is progressing with the installation of monopiles and transition pieces (TPs) well underway.
Dajin Heavy Industry has also delivered 48 of the project’s 62 monopiles (60 for wind turbines and two for offshore substations), while the remaining 14 have been delivered by Spanish Navantia and Windar . All of the 62 transition pieces for the offshore foundations will be manufactured and delivered by Lamprell.

Moray West’s 60 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines will be installed by Cadeler’s Wind Orca , which recently underwent a crane upgrade in Schiedam, the Netherlands.
The 882 offshore wind farm, located approximately 22.5 kilometres from the Caithness coastline, is scheduled to generate its first power this year and to be fully operational in 2025.
Once commissioned, Moray West is expected to meet the electricity needs of about 650,000 households in Scotland for 25 years.
