Located approximately 30 miles (about 48 kilometres) east of Montauk, New Jersey, Sunrise Wind will generate enough clean energy to power nearly 600,000 New York homes, once it is completed in 2026.

Ørsted is set to soon become the sole owner of the offshore wind farm after agreeing to buy Eversource Energy’s 50 per cent stake. Following the completion of the transaction, expected later this year, Eversource will remain contracted, under a separate construction management agreement, to lead the onshore construction of the Sunrise Wind project. In this role, Eversource will be a service provider to Ørsted.
