Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has signed a conditional agreement for the supply of turbines for an offshore wind power project in two phases in Northern Europe.
The capacity of the project is above Vestas’ current disclosure threshold of 1 GW.

If and when the agreement translates into firm and unconditional orders, Vestas said it will disclose these in accordance with the company’s disclosure policy.
This is the second such agreement for Vestas in the past 30 days. Back in May, Vestas signed a conditional agreement with an undisclosed client for another project in Northern Europe which has the capacity of over 1 GW and will be delivered in two phases.
The projects will most likely feature the company’s flagship V236-15.0 MW wind turbine. Vestas had already received orders for the V236-15.0 MW for offshore projects in Germany , Poland , the Netherlands , and Denmark , and will start installing the first 15 MW turbines offshore in 2025.
Earlier this week, one 15 MW unit was installed at the Port of Thyborøn in Denmark.
Vestas installed the prototype wind turbine of the model at the Østerild National Test Centre for large wind turbines in Western Jutland, Denmark in December 2022.
