The latest progress details were shared by Tim Kittelhake, CEO of the Hai Long Project, who was cited in a press release issued by Northland Power announcing the launch of production at Siemens Gamesa’s expanded nacelle assembly facility in Taichung, which the Hai Long consortium hailed as another significant milestone for the project.

The installation of the 73 Siemens Gamesa’s 14 MW wind turbines is expected to start in the second quarter of next year.
The Hai Long consortium, comprising Northland Power, Mitsui & Co. and Gentari, plans to complete the construction of Hai Long 2 by the end of this year and Hai Long 3 by 2026.
The pin piles for the Hai Long 2a part of the project are being delivered by CSBC while EEW is delivering 156 pin piles for Hai Long 2b and Hai Long 3 .
The three-legged jacket foundations for Hai Long 2b and Hai Long 3 are being manufactured by Samkang M&T and for Hai Long 2a by Century Iron & Steel Industrial (CIS) and Century Wind Power (CWP) .
