The company is also developing the up to 270 MW Waterkant offshore wind farm about 90 kilometres off the Borkum Island. The wind farm will feature 16 18.5 MW turbines, supplied by China’s Mingyang Smart Energy .
Once completed, the project is expected to generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 400,000 households in Germany.
