Dajin Heavy Industry Secures Monopile Contract for French Offshore Wind Project

China-based Dajin Heavy Industry has secured a contract for the supply and manufacturing of all monopiles for the Iles D’Yeu et Noirmoutier offshore wind farm in France.

Following the Moray West offshore wind project, this is the second monopiles project to be supplied by Dajin Heavy Industry to the European wind industry and the first to an EU country.

The 496 MW Iles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier wind farm is located 11.6 kilometres from the island of Yeu and 16.5 kilometres from Noirmoutier.

The project will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines planned to be commissioned by 2025 and installed in water depths varying from 17 metres to 35 metres.

The offshore wind farm was selected in France’s second tendering round back in 2014 and was approved for operation in 2018.
