Noshiro Port offshore wind farm, which comprises 20 Vestas V117-4.2 MW wind turbines, has been in commercial operation based on FIT since December 22, 2022, and is currently operating well, the developer said.
Akita Offshore Wind Corporation (AOW) plans to operate and maintain the wind farms for 20 years with its operations and maintenance (O&M) base located at Noshiro Port.
Wind farm installation vessel Seajacks Zaratan was in charge of transporting and installing all of the 33 turbines at the site.
AOW is a consortium led by Marubeni which also includes Obayashi Corporation, Tohoku Sustainable & Renewable Energy, Cosmo Eco Power, The Kansai Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power, The Akita Bank, Ohmori, Sawakigumi Corporation, Kyowa Oil, Katokensetsu, Kanpu, and Sankyo.
According to Marubeni, the bottom-fixed project cost was JPY 100 billion (EUR 712 million).
Tohoku Electric Power is the power off-taker under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
